    SEPT Agenda 2023

Agenda for the Village Board Meeting on Sept. 5th, 2023

Reading of the minutes and treasurer’s report from the August board meeting for approval.

Reading of the present Treasurer’s report

    Old Business:

    • Cathryn’s progress on upgrading our website:  www.galwayvillage.org
    • Solar powered driver feedback sign: contacting the Saratoga County Dept. of Public Works, Chad Cook, to see if they can put the sign up for us.
    • Ruth Schaaf’s Residence: any updates?
    • Rachael Kitchen’s Residence: any updates?  Discussion of possibly finding a lawyer that specializes in how to handle the circumstances of this case. No desire to step on Dave’s toes, just want to get to the bottom of this.
    • Updates on contacting the County Highway Dept about the existing storm drainage system. As we know, the State DOT has no record of our system.  Trying the County next to see if they have a record of the installation (roughly 40 years ago) and if a maintenance agreement exists between the County & the State to maintain the existing drainage system.
    • Re: Hay rides on East Street in October: Kelly & Anne  went over and briefly spoke with Jessica to be sure it is clear to them that the Village will not be sponsoring the event and therefore will not be held liable according to the Village’s Insurance Company’s recommendation; and we reminded her that it would be best for them to pursue getting some event insurance to cover themselves. Jessica understood and gladly agreed.

    New Business:

    • Discussion of re-grading the areas that need it within the Village Park. AARPA monies should pay for this work. Budgeted $2,000 for labor & materials (using good quality topsoil & good quality grass seed.)
    • Other new business???
